These fantastic bands performed at Do Good Fest 2015!
O.A.R. is renowned for its intense, vibrant live show —including selling out Madison Square Garden twice —and the communal feeling it shares with its fans. With each studio album, the band has endeavored to achieve that sense of immediacy. The band has built their devoted fan base off of extensive touring as well as a string of hit singles such as “Love and Memories,” “Shattered,” and now their current single “Peace”.
The Alternate Routes is an American rock band who’ve been writing songs, playing shows, and touring in their trusty Ford Econoline Van for over a decade. Comprised of vocalist Tim Warren and guitarist Eric Donnelly, these Connecticut boys have brought their music to venues across the U.S., Canada and Europe, and spend a great deal of time writing and recording in their home away from home, Nashville. Taking pride in their unique sound and versatility, The Alternate Routes are equally comfortable getting loud as a six piece in a rock club, or stripping things down as an acoustic duo for theaters and intimate venues.
Patti Casey is a prolific songwriter and has perfected her own New England-flavored bluegrassy style, one that shines equally with welcome, familiar sounds as well as undeniable originality. She has recorded four solo albums, and her latest, The Edge of Grace, is aural testament to, “the sweetest voice and some of the finest songwriting to come out of Vermont…” (Vermont Public Radio). She has earned her spot as a fixture on the northeastern US folk scene through sheer talent and artistic self discipline.
Colin McCaffrey’s songwriting and playing are rooted in traditional folk and American forms. Self produced and recorded in 2003, his acclaimed independent release Make Your Way Home fuses bluegrass, country, folk, zydeco, and roots rock into a unique regional hybrid. Seven Days called it a “perfectly balanced, beautiful sounding bluegrass/folk record packed with high quality songs and high caliber musicianship.” Make Your Way Home was voted in the top-10 Vermont Albums of the Year by both the Burlington Free Press and Seven Days.
