The COTS Walk

Did you know that there were 683 children whose families had to turn to COTS, the Committee on Temporary Shelter, for help last year?

In total, 2,400 of our neighbors got a hot meal or a clean bed from COTS when they needed it most.

But COTS can’t do it alone. That’s where you come in. You can organize a team now for this spring’s annual COTS Walk fund-raiser.

The Walk has a 3.5 mile route or a 1-mile route. Each follows a path through downtown Burlington that a person experiencing homelessness might travel to connect with COTS shelters and services.

Walkers and teams of walkers raise money to participate and COTS has a goal of raising $200,000 this spring.

As COTS tells us, “Life every voice, because everyone deserves a home.”

Your support provides warmth and shelter now and throughout the year. And no child should lack a safe home and a warm bed.

Need more reasons to walk? Here are a few from COTS:

  • To create community

  • So no one goes hungry

  • To support those who have served

  • To prevent homelessness from happening

  • For permanent affordable housing

  • To support our neighbors

  • For children and families

  • For a safe place to sleep at night

  • For a place of refuge
