We all know at least one teacher or school district employee who inspires us and goes above and beyond for their students.
These educators and school employees are LifeChangers, and National Life Group is proud to honor them.
For this week’s Do Good Minute, we’d like to give a shout-out to Steven Marinelli from Milton Schools, who has been nominated for the 2018-2019 LifeChanger of the Year award.
Steven is the food service director in the Milton Town School District, and he was nominated by his colleague, Keely Agan. Because of his efforts, drastic changes have been made to the school menus and the quality of the food served in Milton. Now, students and staff are served healthy, local, farm-to-school lunches every day.
Here’s a snapshot of what Steven’s colleague wrote in his nomination:
Steve has been a leader in the MTSD district and community for his entire career with us. From being a leader in the kitchen and cafeterias at the school, where he provides delicious and nutritious lunches day in and day out, to being a farm to school leader for the nation and putting our school on the map as a school who prioritizes health and wellness for students and staff, Steve has helped positively change the life of students, staff, and members of the community. We are lucky to have him.
LifeChanger of the Year is an annual program recognizing educators across the country. The program celebrates those who are making a significant difference in the lives of students by exemplifying excellence, positive influence and leadership.
You can nominate a deserving school employee in your district here. They could be awarded $10,000 to be shared between themselves and their school!
