Do Good Fest 2016 Brought Us Two Big National Names
So, who was your favorite from Do Good Fest 2016: Big Head Todd and the Monsters? Or Brett Dennen?
It turns out that both were very popular and we discovered in 2016 that we essentially had the equivalent two national headliners.
And that helped create growing crowds to match the musical attractions.
Big Head Todd and the Monsters was the advertised national act. But the hillside filled up early because a lot of people wanted to stake out their spot to see and hear Brett Dennen, the national opening act.
We’re taking a trip in the time machine this week, revisiting previous years’ Do Good Fests, since this year’s suspended festival was supposed to be on Saturday.
It turns out that 2016 was a big musical year. We also had two Vermont-based bands in the lineup who drew their own fans: the Dave Keller Band and Steady Betty.
It may have been a challenging year to settle on a favorite band, but the cause remained front and center. The crowd of more than 5,000 helped us raise $30,000 for Branches of Hope cancer patient fund.
